Arizona Desperate for Money, Seen Checking Phone Booths

Apparently the state of Arizona is so strapped for cash that they plan on selling the House and Senate buildings.  The buildings have been in use for over 50 years, but that’s not stopping legislators from considering a $735 million deal.  The deal would involve selling the buildings and leasing them back from a private investor.

They’re also considering contracting out the operation of prisons as well.  What’s next pay toilets in the state parks?  At least Arizona is not trying to tax the world like California.

Leave it to Wired to create the top 10 endearing habits of a geeky spouse.  This of course coming after they posted the top 10 annoying habits of a geeky spouse.  So I’ll spoil it for you and reveal the number 1 habit…Cooking.  Even if you haven’t been good at cooking before, they suggest you give it another few tries.  When you think about it cooking can be pretty geeky, especially if you consider the science involved.  Either way you look at it, it’s a never a dull moment when you’re married to a nerd!

An obscure, at least in the USA, Japanese company called Banpresto is making a business geek proud by offering a NES controller style card holder.  It’s actually pretty good considering it has two compartments, one for your cards and another for cards you receive.  You can pick one upfor the geek in your life for a mear ¥2,900 or around $30.
