The hippies are running wild with new green ideas. The latest is a man in Cambridge Mas. that invented a digester that allow dog waste to power a gas lantern. Simply collect the waste with biodegradable bags and place them in the tank. Turn the wheel a bit to stir the contents and the lamp will light the way. Poop goes in and the only by products are CO2 and water.
I wonder what other magical powers dog poop has? Could we use it to power the new Mars rover? Only time will tell.
My wife is very prone to…uh…we’ll call them “flights of fancy.” Every so often she’ll get an idea that pops into her head and she runs with it. We’ve talked about doing and buying all kinds of stuff in the past and the latest one is roller skates. We dug around a while and found an entire subculture of roller skating. Inline versus traditional or even a new one called Quadline skates, we checked them all out. After much discussion we decided to make our purchase.
After our research sessions we decided to go with Quadline skates. They have much bigger diameter wheels and can be set further apart. This translates to better stability. This will come in handy since I haven’t tried skating since I was 12! We scored a pretty good deal from Skates.com and they are due to arive today. Wish us luck…we’ll need it!
I’ll post some updates on how things are progressing. 
I can’t even count how many times my wife gets to go on day’s off or have a weekend and a nice headache ruins it. Today she’s off and was planning to catch up on her homework, however she woke up with a headache again. It just makes me feel helpless. I get her aspirin, a cold washcloth and even rub her neck, but nothing really fixes it. Sometimes it’s a full on migraine and sometimes it’s just annoying.
Rather than resorting to Haitian Voodoo and goat sacrifice I found a pretty comprehiensive list of things anyone can do to alleaviate a headache. Check out the list below from WebMD.
My wife has actually tried all of these at some point in time. Another one they didn’t mention is drinking caffeine. I’ve found that caffeine has a great affect on the blood flow in my brain and sometimes too much can give me a headache. However it has absolutely no affect on my wife. She could chug 44 oz of Mountain Dew and go to bed… I’d be walking on the ceiling. So the moral of the story is you just need to figure out what works best for you.
