Why Sometimes It’s Better To Pretend You Know Nothing about Computers

I know I’ve got friends and family that constantly ask me for help, I’m sure you nerds out there that can relate.  This is why I love this particular cartoon.  They have a whole series of cartoons that illustrate just how “wonderful” it can be sometimes.

A Sad Day

Yesterday was a sad day for our little family.  We had to put down a beloved member: Caesar one of our ball pythons.  He was a happy little three year old, a little small for his age, but nevertheless enjoyed the little things in life.  He loved to curl up with his buddy Sebastian, our other ball python, and lay around for hours only to come out at night and snoop around.

The story of all this began with my wife and me getting a new lid for their cage.  The lid we got didn’t lock.  Sebastian managed to push open the lid and get out.  Caesar followed him out.  This happened in the middle of the night when they’re most active.  In the morning we found Sebastian under the couch not far from the cage.  However Caesar was a different story, we couldn’t find him anywhere.

Every night we looked for him all over the house, under furniture, the fridge, in the basement, and in the office.  We didn’t find him until one morning a week later (yesterday) when my wife went down to the laundry room and found him on the floor.  The poor guy was hiding out somewhere warm and ended up getting burned (most likely the bottom of the water heater).

After noticing he just wasn’t himself we decided to take him to the emergency vet.  The reptile specialist took one look at him and said it didn’t look good.  He had burns along the majority of his body encompassing one third of his circumference.  There really was nothing to do for him as he would eventually shed the dead skin and expose too much of himself to infection.  Therefore, to end his pain, we decided to put him down.

Caesar you will be missed, but at least you’re not suffering anymore.
