Those Cheeky Brits

The Art Council of Wales today awarded Sue Williams, an artist from Swansea, £20,000 to “explore cultural attitudes towards female buttocks.”  She plans on creating plaster casts of women’s behinds to try and see their place in contemporary culture as it applies in Europe and Africa.

I’d like to think this study will help society, but I’m afraid she’ll just use the money to travel the world.  This begs the question: did anyone check her credentials before giving her this money?  This is just a prime example of what you can do with an excellent grant writer!

My personal favorite comments on this are on slashdot: http://science.slashdot.org/story/09/06/29/1733250/Artist-Wins-pound20000-Grant-To-Study-Womens-Butts

My Precious! – The Answer Ring

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this: The Answer Ring.  Now it appears women need a tool to aid in dealing with their husbands.  The Answer Ring allows the user, aka wife, to dial in the specific problem and find insight and help on the back.  Apparently people love it because the comments on Amazon are all good. I’d leave a comment about it but the other commenter’s would probably dial in an answer to deal with me.
